Instant Pot Applesauce

Ingredients:

3 pounds apples like fuji or a mix of fuji and granny smith, cored and chopped
ΒΌ cup sugar honey, or maple syrup (optional)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter optional
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice optional
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon optional
1/4 teaspoon salt optional

Directions:

In the Instant Pot, combine the apples with the sugar, lemon juice, butter, cinnamon, and salt, if using.

Pressure cook for 5 minutes.

Quick-release the pressure.

Mash the apples in the pot with a potato masher.

Serve immediately or let cool to room temperature and then cover and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
